Cops and rape victims; the interrogation process

In this excellent article, researchers show how important it is to allow rape victims plenty of time to recall the horrific experience; that, very often, they only do so in bits and pieces and over days, weeks or even months. This sounds very similar to the experience police undergo after a traumatic officer-involved-shooting. Thoughts?
